Financial Privacy Policy - Brookwood
Tax Service
|
| The personal tax data organizers which clients fill out and submit to us | |
| Originals or copies of financial forms and documents which clients provide to us during the process of tax preparation and/or income tax planning | |
| Financial information provided to us by third parties at clients' instruction | |
| Any other communications or documents clients provide to us throughout the tax year | |
| Communications from the IRS and/or state tax agencies if so authorized by clients |
No personal client information is ever disclosed to any person or organization except as required by law or as instructed by the client.
Client information is seen only by employees who need the information in order to deliver the requested tax preparation and income tax planning services to the client.
Client records are protected by physical and electronic safeguards and, when paper records are discarded, they are shredded to prevent disclosure of the contents.
Should a client become inactive, this privacy policy will still apply to all of that client's records.
Please contact us if you have any questions concerning this financial privacy policy.

You may notice that our privacy policy is very short. It is
deliberately so. There are no pages about "affiliates" or
"non-affiliated third parties" who will access your information for
purposes of cross-selling financial products such as mortgages, securities
or insurance. We
are tax specialists and our sole focus is your tax return and your
personal or small business tax planning.
No cross-selling of financial services. No telemarketing. No
third-party junk mail. Period.
And, unlike some tax and accounting firms, we do not send our clients' tax returns to be prepared in a developing country, where financial privacy protections may not be as strong as they are in the United States.

Privacy is Important! The Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act of 1999 requires all financial services institutions and professionals to give customers copies of their privacy policies each year. For detailed info on the act, visit the Federal Trade Commission site.

Read that Policy!
In essence, your financial services providers must tell you about every potential party with whom they plan to share your financial information. In some cases, your tax preparation info is being passed around to affiliates and subsidiaries for marketing purposes.
The bottom line here is, the longer the privacy policy, the less private your personal information! |
